Open-source/Free icons

Question:
Want to put icons on your website without having to violate some copyright with other websites or people?


Answer:
Use open-source or free quality icons. I gathered a list where you can get these.

1. Everaldo Crystal Icons
   
   I use these icons a lot since so many icons to choose from. Ranging from 16x16 to 128x128 pixels resolution, it even has 256x256 pixels! All icons are in PNG format.
   I wouldn't put this to #1 without a purpose. ;)

2. Tango Icon Library
   
   Great selection of icons, ranges from 16x16 to 32x32. All icons are in PNG format but there is an available SVG format inside the scalable folder.

3. Famfamfam Icons
   
   1,000 icons to choose from, wow! Only 16x16 pixels icon resolution is available. :(

4. Open Icon Library - Web page icons
   
   Not your ordinary square icons, ranges from 18 pixels wide up to 64 pixels wide. Neatly categorized so you don't have to scroll-up and down searching from hundreds of icons. SVG format is available aside from the ready to use PNG format icons. If you have SVN installed on your computer, you can update the repository of the SVG folders under each category. (I don't know if they only forgot to delete the .svn folder there... oh well it updates.)
